2017-18 First Day of School
The first day of school is Thursday, August 24, 2017, for grades 1-12. The first day of school for Kindergarten is Wednesday, August 30,

PLEASE BE SURE TO SEND A DETAILED NOTE ON THE FIRST DAY OF WHERE/HOW YOUR CHILD IS GOING HOME
i.e. bus, pick up, walker, bike rider (4th and 5th grades only).

Back to School Haircuts

Local hair stylists have teamed up to offer free Back to School haircuts for Wheelock students from 10-3 on Monday, August 21st at Franklin School. Haircuts will be on a first-come basis. Thank you to all the stylists who are donating their time!

First Day Backpacks
Monadnock United Way in partnership with the Keene Police Dept. is proud to announce the First Day Project to benefit Wheelock and Fuller School students. Please contact the school if you would like to receive a backpack for your child.


Missing Information
If you are missing required information such as birth certificate, physical form, immunizations, proof of residency, etc, please do your best to get it to us before school starts.


New Student Orientation (Grades 1-5)
Parents/guardians and students, please join us on Wednesday, August 23rd from 2-3pm to tour the building, meet teachers and ask questions.


Kindergarten Orientation
Students and parents/guardians should join us on Tuesday, August 29th from 9:30-10:30 am. We will tell you about our school, meet the teachers and staff, tour the classroom and even ride the bus!


Incoming Kindergarten

Screenings: Please call the school to schedule a 1-hour screening on August 24th OR August 25th. 
Not  Registered?: Children turning 5 by September 30, 2017, should be registered for Kindergarten. You may register your child at any Keene elementary school
. Please call the school before arriving to be sure someone is available to help you. Click on the link at the top of this page for more information and registration forms.
Bring with you to register: Child's birth certificate; immunization record and physical record from your health care provider; proof of residency (lease, pay stub, or cc or bank statement).

Bike Riding
Fourth and fifth graders may ride their bikes to school. Helmets must be worn. Please review safety rules and routes with your child to be sure they are riding safely.
