We have an active PTA that meets monthly. The goal of the Wheelock PTA is to provide a sense of community for students and families, and to enrich children’s school experiences.
The PTA supports numerous programs and traditions at Wheelock School. Some of the activities are:
- Field trips and Artist in Residency, The Colonial Educational Presentations
- Fall and Spring Book Fairs
- Teacher/Staff Appreciation luncheon/week
- 5th Grade Recognition Night
- A number of Family Social Events, Wheelock (Field) Day, Spring Fling
These activities are made possible because of the energy and commitment of all who volunteer their time. We participate in a number of fundraising activities during the school year and hope that you will be able to participate in whatever capacity you are comfortable with.
Examples of past successful fundraisers are:
- Flower sales: Fall Mums and Holiday Poinsettias
- Catalog Gift Sales
- Holiday Craft Fair Extravaganza
- Sales - Maple, Yard, Bake, etc.
- Restaurant Fundraisers
- Hannaford Book Bin
The PTA conducts a planning meeting the first Tuesday or Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Wheelock School library. Free supervised activities are available to children age three and up. ALL are invited.
